LCV Victory Fund and Priorities USA Action Launch $2 Million Campaign in 15 Congressional Districts

October 17, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC (October 17, 2024) – Today, LCV Victory Fund and Priorities USA Action launched a $2 million online campaign targeting young voters and voters of color in 15 battleground congressional districts. The first in a series of ads will run on YouTube and streaming TV from now until Election Day.

The campaign is aiming to turn out low-propensity Democrats in 15 congressional districts: CA-27, CA-41, CA-45, CA-47, CA-49, CO-08, IA-01, IA-03, NY-04, NY-17, NY-19, NY-22, OR-05, VA-02, and VA-07.

The first two ads are available HERE and HERE.

This campaign builds upon LCV Victory Fund’s comprehensive House campaign that includes a combination of paid media and field organizing programs in key House races across the country. The initial $14 million program, which launched in September, has now grown to over $18 million and encompasses 28 races across paid media and field programs.

This $2 million ad campaign is a part of Priorities’ “Margins Project,” a multi-million-dollar digital ad program designed to bridge the gap in voter outreach that traditional grassroots efforts overlook. While traditional media programs focus on reaching voters of color online by targeting zip codes with a high population of their respective demographic, this program is specifically designed to reach the growing majority of voters of color who live in less homogenous ZIP codes. These targeted House districts are outside of competitive presidential and targeted Senate campaigns, and require a disproportionate investment towards mobilizing voters.

“MAGA House Republicans have shown time and time again that they are only going to do the bidding of Big Oil,” said Megan Jacobs, Vice President of Paid Campaigns, LCV Victory Fund. “This mobilization campaign is designed to meet voters where they are and ensure that they know that their vote is critical in this election. With MAGA House Republicans determined to roll back the historic climate progress made by the Biden-Harris administration, we need to elect pro-environmental candidates in the House who will build a clean energy economy and tackle the climate crisis.”

“Priorities USA is building on our years-long partnership with LCV Victory Fund to engage voters in targeted House districts across various states to help voters understand how critically important it is to cast their ballot this November,” said Danielle Butterfield, Executive Director, Priorities USA Action. “Priorities believes that the only way that Democrats win back the majority in the House is by expanding our reach to mobilize those who are often not included in traditional paid media programs. With our mobilization and digital expertise, in partnership with LCV Victory Fund’s deep relationships with voters in these districts, we know we will be able to effectively deliver an innovative mobilization strategy from now until November.”
