Washington, D.C. – This week, LCV Victory Fund has launched new TV, digital, and digital radio ads in 6 House districts: MI-03, opposing John Gibbs; MN-02, supporting Rep. Angie Craig and opposing Tyler Kistner; OR-06, supporting Andrea Salinas; NM-02, opposing Rep. Yvette Herrell; NH-01, opposing Karoline Leavitt; and CT-05, supporting Rep. Jahana Hayes. Across all six districts, the total spending is $1.7 million.

The ads span a number of issues important to voters in each district, including Rep. Hayes (CT-05) and Andrea Salinas’ (candidate for OR-06) records of helping to lower energy bills for Connecticut and Oregon families, Rep. Herrell (NM-02) and Karoline Leavitt’s (candidate for NH-01) dangerous anti-democracy views and ties to extremists, and Rep. Angie Craig’s record of taking on special interests, including Big Oil, to reduce costs for consumers, while her opponent Tyler Kistner is backed by groups that have taken millions in contributions from the oil and gas industry.
“With less than three weeks to go until November 8, LCV Victory Fund is doubling down on our support for climate and democracy champions running for battleground House seats,” said Megan Jacobs, LCV Victory Fund Senior Director of Campaigns. “From Connecticut to Oregon, and everywhere in between, dangerous anti-environment and anti-democracy Republicans are on the ballot, itching to roll back this Congress’ progress to build a healthier, more equitable, and more affordable clean energy future.”
The NH-01 and CT-05 ads were first announced Tuesday alongside the news that the anti-environment Republicans in both races, Karoline Leavitt and George Logan, are two of the newest additions to LCV Victory Fund’s Dirty Dozen list of the worst anti-environmental and anti-democracy candidates. The new ad in NM-02 was first announced Wednesday, where Rep. Yvette Herrell is also a member of the 2022 House and Senate Dirty Dozen.
This increased spending in House races comes on top of Monday’s news that LCV Victory Fund and Climate Power Action also expanded their now $15 million ‘Climate Voters Mobilization’ digital ads and direct mail program to include 6 additional House districts: CA-27, NC-13, NM-02, NY-22, OH-01, and OH-13. LCV Victory Fund also ran general election ads in NM-02 and CT-05 earlier this cycle, and backed Andrea Salinas in the OR-06 primary this spring.
